Licence
What you may do with a Mouldery kit, in plain words: print it for your own workshop as often as you like, sell everything you cast with it, and do not pass the files on. The full terms are below; nothing in them is hidden in the summary.

During the launch, kits are free: wherever this text mentions a price or a payment, the licence applies in the same way to the kits you download free of charge.
What you are buying
A kit is a set of files generated in your browser from the parameters you chose: nine STL files, a README in English and French, and a kit.json file with the metrics. When you pay for a kit, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use those files. You do not buy the design itself, the generator, or the right to pass the files on: the files are licensed to you, the buyer, and they stay licensed to you for as long as you keep them.
One order is one kit, that is one set of parameters. Generating the same vessel again with different dimensions is a new kit and a new licence, under the same terms.
What you may do
- Print every part of the kit as many times as you need, on as many printers as you own, for your own workshop. Reprint a part that breaks or wears out without asking.
- Change the print settings, the material, the colour, scale or repair the files for your printer. The licence covers the files as delivered and any copy you adapt for your own use.
- Have a print service print the parts for you, as long as the service deletes the files afterwards and does not keep, reuse or redistribute them.
- Make as many silicone moulds from the printed parts as you like, and cast as many objects in them as you like.
- Sell, give away, exhibit or otherwise use every object you cast: candles, planters, trays, anything. Personal and commercial use of castings is included, with no limit on quantity or price, no royalty, no expiry and no requirement to credit Mouldery.
- Say, if you want to, that the mould was made with a Mouldery kit. You are never required to.
What you may not do
- Sell, rent, lend, share, publish or give away the STL files, the README or the kit.json, in whole or in part, in any format, to anyone, whether or not money changes hands.
- Include the files, or parts derived from them, in another kit, bundle, course, subscription or product that is sold or distributed, even if the rest of it is yours.
- Sell or give away the printed mould parts themselves: master, formwork, base plate, core, bridge, wick tool. They are tools for your workshop, not products.
- Upload the files to a model repository, a marketplace, a shared drive open to others, or a service that trains on or redistributes 3D models.
- Transfer the licence to someone else, including when you sell your business, without our written agreement.
- Use the Mouldery name or logo on your products, shop or marketing in a way that suggests we made, endorse or guarantee your castings.
In one table
| You can | You cannot | |
|---|---|---|
| Printed parts | print unlimited copies for your own workshop, reprint, repair, rescale | sell or give away the printed parts |
| Files | keep them for life, re-download them, adapt them for your printer | resell, share, publish, bundle or upload them anywhere |
| Castings | sell without limit, no royalty, no attribution, forever | nothing is restricted |
| Business | use the kit in your own business, with your own staff and printers | transfer or sublicense the kit to another business |
| Brand | mention that the mould was made with a Mouldery kit | use our name or logo as if we endorsed or made your products |
Term, breach and what happens to your castings
The licence has no end date. It ends only if you redistribute the files or the printed parts in breach of these terms, in which case you must delete every copy. Castings you made before that remain yours, and nothing in this licence ever gives us a claim on the objects you cast.
We keep the right to change the licence for future kits. The licence attached to a kit is the one in force on the day you bought it; a later version never applies retroactively to a kit you already own.
Refunds, regeneration and questions
Kits are digital goods generated to order, so there is no return once a file has been downloaded. If a kit fails to generate, or a file is corrupt or does not match the parameters you chose, write to hello@mouldery.com within 14 days and we will regenerate it at no cost, or refund it if we cannot. The full conditions are in the terms of sale.
If something you want to do is not clearly covered here, ask at hello@mouldery.com before you do it. Most questions get a yes, and a short written answer is easier than a dispute.
